Jack Allen's Kitchen

I just entered the "Win a Chair for a Year" contest at Jack Allen's Kitchen, and I suggest you do the same. The winner will receive $100 worth of dining each month for a full year. You'll have to register online, though, because the new Oak Hill restaurant isn't scheduled to open until sometime in December. You can also text CHAIR to 74700 to register.

Longtime executive chef of Z'Tejas, Jack Allen Gilmore is bringing his chef-driven concept to life with the opening of Jack Allen's Kitchen. Gilmore and business partner, Tom Kamm, regional director of operations for Z'Tejas have contracted with local architecture firm, Mann & Mann to create the unique space in Oak Hill where the Y Bar and Grill once stood.

I'm not exactly sure what a "chef-driven" concept means, but Gilmore promises to deliver great food using local ingredients. He certainly has the credentials to bring something fresh to the Austin restaurant scene.
